Illustration Friday: Blue

This weeks Illustration Friday theme is Blue. I decided to make a design for a website landing page which will be called "Blue Ocean" - a non-govermental organization whose mission is to do research, heighten public awareness and provide education, organize lobbying efforts and do fundraising all related to saving the world's oceans.

Our oceans are facing multiple threats, from coral reef bleaching due to climate change to oil spills, from overfishing to the dumping of millions of tons of plastic garbage.
Blue Ocean will be an international effort to mobilize the people of the world to try to save the oceans.

Finally, after putting my references together, I created four thumbnails for the "Blue Ocean" website. Like in my reference websites, I put a bar at the top for the website name. For two of my thumbnails, I added a bit of more information below the picture for variation.

I wanted to create a digital version of one of these thumbnails in photoshop but I became too busy to finish it.
